When you’re in the middle of ruining your life, you aren't "cultivating growth."
You are drowning in the sewage of your own terrible decisions, wondering if your liver is going to quit before your unregistered car does.
Yet, somehow, against all known laws of nature, biology, and basic common sense, you’re still breathing.
People love to throw around that nauseatingly sweet phrase: "Bloom where you are planted!" It’s usually written in cursive on a wooden plaque hanging in the bathroom of a woman named Karen who thinks a second glass of Pinot Grigio makes her a wild child.
Fuck that. You weren't "planted" in a nice little suburban garden bed with miracle grow and an automated sprinkler system. You were dropped in a dumpster behind an Arby’s. You were buried under ten feet of bad choices, burnt bridges, unpaid debts, and the crushing realization that you are, in fact, the common denominator in all your own problems.
That wasn't soil. That was a grave. You were supposed to stay down there… be buried in the streets you were running. The statistics said so, your ex said so, and honestly, your own brain was making a pretty compelling argument for it anytime you’d let yourself slowdown.
But then you did something incredibly inconvenient for everyone who had written you off: you didn't die.
Instead, you squeezed your way through the wreckage and obstacles like a weed bursting through bad asphalt. You didn't do it gracefully. There were no orchestra strings playing in the background. It was ugly, loud, embarrassing, and involved a lot of crying over stupid shit like folding laundry or feeling actual emotions for the first time in a decade.
Now you’re up here in the light. Are you a delicate little daisy? Hell no. You’re the bad ass battle hardened rose growing through the cracks—indestructible, stubborn, and completely impossible to kill.
You didn't "bloom where you were planted." You climbed out of a shallow grave because staying buried was boring and you had shit to do.
You aren’t buried any more! Go out there bloom like a motherfucker!
